Marketplace policies
Short version: sell what's really yours, describe it honestly, ship it fast.
Prohibited items
- Illegal items of any kind
- Counterfeit or replica goods
- Stolen property
- Weapons
- Drugs and drug paraphernalia
- Hazardous materials
- Fraudulent or forged documents
- Anything prohibited by our payment providers
- Anything that violates local, state or federal law
Every seller confirms at listing time that they own or are authorized to sell the item and that the description is accurate.
Fees & payouts
Closet Auction keeps a 10% marketplace fee on each completed sale. Your payout is the winning bid minus that fee, released after the buyer receives the item. Your first sale is free; after that, selling requires a $9.99/month membership.
Auctions
Every auction runs 30 days. Bids must beat the current bid by at least $5, sellers can't bid on their own items, and the highest bid at the deadline wins. Unsold items expire on day 31 and can be relisted in one tap.
Payments
Buyers always pay through the marketplace — never directly to a seller. Card data is never stored by Closet Auction.
TODO (production): connect a live payment provider, real shipping labels and tracking, identity verification, email/SMS providers, and final legal terms. Payments, payouts and memberships currently run in test mode.
